Notch (Minecraft's creator) posted this on twitter: ***** It seems PCMag awards are given to companies that pay for them. For this reason I would absolutely not trust any product reviews from this site - and as it seems to be their primary product, I don't trust this site at all.

Useful reviews for pretty much all sorts of devices.

Has a huge amount of trackers, hides pop-ups to dodgy websites in normal looking links, and spams you if they have your email address.

Way to many pop up ads and spam. I find the reviews poorly written and I question the if the products are ranked based on testing and the reviewers opinion. It certainly seems to me that the #1 ranked product in many reviews is so obviously not the best product that I have to believe that they ranked it at the top because they are getting more money per sale than the other products in the review. Hey just my opinion, but how else can you explain it. Clearly there are reviews, that have an obviously inferior product ranked #1. It all about the $$. They will rank the product that pays them the biggest commission per sale in the top spot. Here is a hypothetical example: Let's say they are doing a review, and they have 2 or 3 products that are fairly similar in the features that put them in contention for the top spot. So how do they decide which deserves the top spot? Well, whichever of the 3 they can get the best commission deal with of course!! Like I said, just my opinion, but I have seen too many examples of a number 3 or 4 product ranked number 1 on PCMAG.

"21 ways to ...." on twenty one pages, requiring twenty one clicks and producing twenty one sets of ads. The advertisers get billed for 21 clicks. Yeah, that's all ethical, not to mention customer friendly. Sure it is.

Though the site is very useful and frequently updated.. I feel the owner should work on its navigation.. look and feel of the website.

The Good: Good site, lots of information. The Ugly: Popups are obnoxious. Heavy fees for software which should be free or cheap. Tons of tracking cookies.

You can download software from this site, but they want money even for Freeware programms. I call this scam!
