I receive spam or scam emails addressed to someone else. I send spam reports, and this company just BS me how good their product is. Not good, if I receive those.

ProofPoint is exactly what they say they are, an antispam/antimalware service. I am the senior technician at an IT Managed Service Provider and I have been moving all of my customers from services like Barracuda and Sophos to ProofPoint. This site is nothing but propaganda for their business. It is safe and clean, but is little more than one big advertisement until you are a customer. Then you will be accessing the service settings.

Operates a filter for e-mail based messages that generates false positives. While that can happen to any other filter as well, proofpoint completely and utterly ignores any contact. What that means for me is that the mail server on my site isn't listed on any of the over 78 well known blacklists. I can send mail to people on GMX, GMail, come out clean on extremely strict lists such as Spamhaus Zen ever since - of course, because I'm a legit site that doesn't send spam, and never sent spam, and I've owned the IP for like 5 years, during which it was never compromised, never spammed, and so on. But proofpoint just ignores any contact for months, no reply, nothing. So I have to "deal with it" and cannot write to anyone using it. What that means for you is that legit people cannot contact you, if you use proofpoint. Those could be business partners, friends, whatever - even if they jump through all the hoops, make their admin contact proofpoint - nothing will work, because proofpoint simply does not react. Knowing that, you should probably not use proofpoint, because you will lose legit mail. Take any other blacklist - Spamhaus Zen, anything. Those also filter, but they make sure to limit the amount of false positives. Proofpoint simply doesn't give a sheet, whether you get blocked or lose legit mail - which begs the question: if they don't give a sheet if you're going to be losing legit mail, why you should be using it in the first place?

ProofPoint is a classic example of a company that wants no contact whatsoever with people affected by their services. Its deeply flawed e-mail block-list service frequently produces false positives yet the service is totally incapable of dealing with them, as its false positive reporting is entirely ignored, resulting in no revocation of a block even after hundreds of reports. However, even though anyone's e-mail server(s) may be affected, the ProofPoint support is restricted only to customers, and all other points of contact are totally ignored. In short, ProofPoint is a company that is irresponsible, and cannot be trusted as an objective maintainer of an e-mail block-list, as their processes are fundamentally flawed with no sign of being repaired.
