For me, I have found that PureSleep have worked very well. The one things I am not happy with is how a customer gets in touch with the company. I will say that my dentist felt that their product, the quality of the material, held up better for those of us who either have nighttime seizures or bruxism. He owns a few pairs. The only modifications I have done, are: 1) like some of their competitors do, after being in the water and when putting in my mouth to make the indentations, I slip the back end of a plastic spoon so that my upper teeth and bottom teeth can actually have something to put pressure on. When I did not do this, the fit was a bit lose. It worked, okay, but, doing this simple trick is a major difference. 2) on my last order, the furthest back holes for attaching the two pieces of the product were not punched out. I don't mean they were cut and just hanging there, I mean that I could see that the machine hit the area, but never made it through. My doctor approved me for the furthest back, so, most extended lower jaw, but, I wasted two of the three I had in the last order. They are my back-ups, but I will check for now on. One warning, which is NOT a PureSleep issue, After getting the fit just right, I cut off the appropriate extra plastic which went way back in my mouth. I used a knife, but I never checked for how smooth the cut was or was not. By the second day, I woke up to a bloody mess on my pillow. I had allowed the very sharp ends of the plastic just rip apart the left side of my tongue. It was like someone took a razor blade and made 7 to 9 cuts from top to bottom, then, used something very sharp to dig out and create a valley like are on the side of my tongue. To top it off,it tore up the bottom of my tongue, leaving a few blisters. My dentist saw me immediately, he cleaned the mouthpiece, and they use something like a Dremmil saw or sander, in this case. The mouth piece ended up perfectly smooth. He told me how to do that my self. I have a full dremmel set, but, he asked me to stick to sandpaper. He also said that there is no charge to coming in and having the PureSleep devices set by him. Also, he can use heat via some of their tools. This allows him to form a very tight bond to protect my teeth also, plus, giving me a very good and comfortable sleep. I have not tried any of the competition. I am sure they are fine, but, when things are going okay, why mess them up? That is what is working for me. Good luck to you and your partner as you both get a better sleep. Last note, I do take a heavy dose of seizure medication right as I go to bed, plus a solid amount of a pain killer, and about another dozen meds as I have finally hit remission after a six year battle with cancer. This means that my muscles and tissue in my throat are totally relaxed and the fact that I do not shore at all, is, well, it is a good thing. Happy holidays and Holy Days to all of us.
