PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO PARTICIPATE -- The Good -- After you purchase you do get what you paid for. Shipping prices are very reasonable - $1.99 to $29.99 Mailing was reasonable. Everything received within 7 business days. All hunky dory... okay, maybe not... -- The Bad -- Penny Auctions are designed for 'the company' to make a profit from addictive mindsets who are unaware of the impact this auction format has on their wallets. The way it works is that people pay 60 cents per bid and that raises a item's price by 1 penny. So, for every item that is at $1 that means that the site has made $60 on that auction so far. Basically, this is a simple way for a company to sell products for MUCH HIGHER than they are actually worth. In order to get a discount YOU MUST BE THE LAST BIDDER. Sure, sounds easy, but when 100 different people are poking bids around, only 1 of those 100 has a chance to get 'a discount'. The other downside is that even if you get a discount, you are still getting a discount in comparison to a 'value' price that is often far above retail price. So, you may think 20% is great, but that may very well still be above the actual retail price (depending on pricing). The 'catch' to this site is they offer you the ability to 'Buy It Now' and use your previous bids as credits towards buying the item at full price. This is what gets you addicted to the system, then you end up wasting hours and hours clicking only to end up paying more than what the item is actually worth anywhere else - often times you can buy these items for 40% less on Ebay brand new. Another catch!!! Very important! If you want to make a return you cannot be refunded the amount of money you spent on bids. So, if you bid 100 times ($60) and end up buying the item for $2, your only refund can be $2 - the other $60 you spent in bids cannot be refunded. How's that for a policy! Ha! Don't waste your time bothering with these penny auctions. It's amazing they are legal. If you want to participate and learn the hard way, go ahead, but there is no 'sure-fire' strategy to coming out on top. Better luck playing the penny slots in Vegas. ---- Other negative things to think about: You cannot be refunded for the bids that are in your account. Once you purchase bids, they are there forever. Voucher/Free bids seem like a great thing, but they are not! When you use these bids in an auction, they hold NO VALUE towards buying the item. So, suppose you spent 100 ($60) in real bids, and another 100 (free) voucher bids, if you decided to purchase the item, you are only going to get $60 worth of credit towards that item. The downside to the above, is that while the price goes up on the item from the auction, you are wasting your time with bids that mean absolutely nothing. Another downside to the free bids is that they only come into effect AFTER you've spent all of your real bids. Participating in those 'FREE BID' auctions seems like a good idea, but you're basically just throwing your money into the trash. The FREE BID auctions are just a great way for the site to convert your valuable bids into worthless bids.

When bidding in auctions on QuiBids, you never have to lose! Though bids placed in auctions are not returned, you never have to lose an investment. If you win an auction, you will have the opportunity to obtain the item for up to 90% off retail! If you lose in an auction, the Buy Now feature is available in every auction so that you can apply your investment towards the total value of the item. For example, if you bid an investment of $30 in an auction for an item valued at $50 and do not win, you may apply this investment towards the Value Price of an item when utilizing the Buy Now feature. So, in this case you have the opportunity to pay an additional $20 to receive the item at it's valued price. This feature ensures that QuiBids users always have the option to receive an item when participating in an auction, and never have to lose any money invested. By winning auctions and always utilizing the Buy Now feature in auctions that are not won, you will always be saving money on QuiBids. Hopefully this helps provide some clarification regarding your issue! Please don't hesitate to contact support@quibids.com with any other questions or concerns you may have. Sincerely, Quibids Team

SHILL BIDDERS!!!! BEWARE!!! Don't believe ANY positive feed ... SHILL BIDDERS!!!! BEWARE!!! Don't believe ANY positive feedback you see on this site. It's either from employees or people who have been paid to write something good. (Basically employees too) You'll win a "Beginner" auction easily, that's to draw you in. But then just TRY to win another "regular" auction .... every credit you have bought, or the ones you won in the beginner auction, will be gone within minutes .... while auctions all around you are ended with ridiculously low prices. SCAM in the highest order ..... stay FAR away & spread the word about the monkey-business going on here.

do yourself a favor, the ONLY people that win are the site owners. You are essentially out 60.00 from the get go, like as soon as you sign up!! Do like I did close them down, and DON'T give them your credit card info which they want UP FRONT.

Online auction site. Great experience, if you learn the process and know that it is different than Ebay. It is not trying to ripe you off. You just need to learn the business model.

If you actually understand how to use the site, it works exactly as advertised. If you immediately use up all your bids on a 64-GB iPad thinking you're going to win it for $1, you're just... stupid (everyone who says Quibids is a scam below). There are youtube videos that explain how to efficiently bid and sometimes win, but it is mostly luck.

The prices shown on the auctions are the price that the winner of the auction will pay to receive the item, plus shipping costs. On Quibids, you buy bids in advance for .60 cents a piece, and then you use those bids in auctions. We apologize for any confusion, and if you ever have any questions, you can contact us at support@quibids.com. Sincerely, Quibids Team

Its a real site, and you cant really get things for those prices, but it is a scam. logistically, it cost 20 cents to bid, and every bid makes the objects price go up one cent. So that means that for ever sent place on the price they gain 20 cents. you can really buy an ipad for 22 dollars, but they make 440 dollars off of bids. a honda civic for 1,700 and 23,540 in bids, thats how it works.

If you look at the bottom of the main page, you see a lot of things for 1 cent, but these are all fake and are only used to trick you. Don't believe the misleading words that say how great they are on the front page!!!!!!! The good ratings are given by the employees of the company or whoever owns it. THOSE ARE ALL WRONG RATINGS.

They operate out of Oklahoma City, OK so they do operate under US laws! It's an auction site and I love it. I've won lots of gift cards at hugely discounted prices and an electric knife sharpener without a single problem. They've always sent me my winnings within 10 days of the auction's closing. It's such a fantastic marketing approach and they're making a bunch of money on each auction that they don't have be crooked. The only negative comment I have is that it is addictive just like gambling and they have limits on how many items you can win per month. The only negative comments I've heard or seen are from idiots/auction losers who don't know how to play on this auction site. They don't realize they could reduce their losses by only bidding on items you're willing to pay the retail price. If you don't win the auction you have the option to use the Buy It Now feature to get credit for the bids they used (worth 60 cents each) towards the retail price. Every charge to my credit card has been exactly what it was suppose to be. It's also fun to watch how some popular items go crazy while items no one wants end without a single bid. Watch it for a while and get comfortable before diving in and buying any bid packs. Some days are definitely better than others to get the bargains.
