Is softonic.com Safe?

Desde hace varios años soy fiel seguidor de Softonic, siempre descargo casi todos los programas necesarios en mi portatil, sin ningun problema, es mas yo diria que tengo instalados casi todos los programas que he necesitado en el y que me son de gran utilidad y fuera de eso abarca un sinfin de programas en una sola pagina es increible la cantidad de programas que se consiguen hay de pago y lo mejor gratis, tambien, fuera de eso llegan actualizaciones para los programas que se han descargado, y lo puedo asegurar jamas me ha llegado un virus o algo por el estilo, por eso lo recomiendo.

This website does host legit software, but also tries to down malware, adware, worms etc. I downloaded a game but it came with the Worm.Win32ILL which I cleaned using malwarebytes Anti-Malware aka MBAM it is the best in malware removal. And NO, I do not work for malwarebytes.

It adds extensions in my browsers without consent, it is strange but true..... Sigo en castellano: Acbo de formatear un pc, no he entrado para nada en este sitio y,sin embargo, me haan "colado " una extension suya en Chrome...y estoy totálmente seguro de lo que digo.

Can't rely on this website anymore. It used to be good until they turned all their downloads into a single downloader (downloads accelerator, but not even that) that comes with bundled software offers from third-party companies and most of them are potentially unwanted programs, adware (toolbars or browser extensions) and spyware... and anyway there are much better options out there, softonic shouldn't essentially stay alive.
