A Yellow WOT rating of "Suspicious" for this site. Lots of tracking ads and pop-ups here with potential privacy risks. A good computer guru that I know talks about how small banner ads can help support a site, such as his own. But he says that ***** requires a pop-up blocker:
From 2:14-5:44 he talks about how you will see the pop-ups at this site when he turns the ad blocker off. This is his You Tube video, which includes the pop-up ad issues found at stltoday.com

Great paper I wish that the stories weren't the same everyday not stltoday's fault but Saint Louis I did see that the city is #3 for most dangerous seriously it's a start keep it up.
Unfortunately this newspaper has a reputation of wrongfully using your IP address. In one example the newspaper pursued a reader for comments he left, and got his employer to fire him.
Employs the editor Kurt Greenbaum who used IP information gained through the comment section to notify the employer of a commentator who left a humorous but pg-13 rated message. In doing so Kurt Greenbaum violated the site's Terms of use, that prohibits releasing personal information or tracking the IP for contact purposes.
The employer fearful of the implied bad publicity when contacted by a media editor forced the employee to resign and the editor Kurt Greenbaum then posted a bragging news item on the subject. As long as Kurt Greenbaum remains employed your privacy is likely to be breached according to his own judgment even when going against the site's own stated policies. This site's lack of privacy integrity already caused a person to lose his job.
They will violate their TOS policy and journalistic integrity and actively work to punish any commentary they do not agree with. If this is their mindset dealing with the public I would encourage you to very weary in trusting any facts or positions reported by stltoday.
After user posted joke, the web editor called their boss, handed over the user's private data, and got user FIRED. This is in violation of their privacy agreement. We, as customers, can no longer trust them.
