I love this game. It's perfect for children who's parent fear for their child's web safety. The game is free to play* and download. I myself play and under the parental control options, parents can control what their children tell others. They have a filtered censored chat, menu chat with pre-written sentences, and adult chat which you have to be 18+ and a member to see. Anything typed that is not accepted by the filter is seen to others as ". . ." The game is entertaining and has incredibly good graphics for being free and the trial is free forever basically. Game purchasing is fast, simple, easy, and safe and it sends you receipts and purchases records in your e-mail. It keeps track of credit purchases so you know if your children or others are using it. * Only the first few areas are free. The rest can be accessed through a monthly subscription of $10 a month or a special of $60 a year or you can buy areas open forever at $1-$3 dollars per area.

This is a good fun game for players of all ages, provides strictly filtered chat for younger audiences although for adult players this can be opted out of.

First of this game is not free... I personal don't like websites that let you fill out all your personal information to find out later that you have to pay for a game that seemed to be free in the first place. There are many games you can play for free, but for extras you have to pay. In my opinion that's fair, because you can be part of the game FOR FREE and only pay for EXTRAS. The "free" part of Wizard101 is actually just a free trail... Why not say free trail???

Fun little fantasy-themed "MMO with training wheels". Has filtered chat, purportedly to protect it's target audience (children roughly age 8 to 12), however that filter is not impossible to work around. For example, numbers cannot be said directly, but one can use phonetic sound-a-likes; "one" becomes "won", "two" becomes "too", "three" becomes "tree", and so on. Still, it's probably about as safe as almost anywhere on the 'net is going to BE, for children. And, as a bonus, parents are welcome to play along WITH their children. I met many groups of parent/child, and even some of grandparent/child, while playing the game with my partner.
