I made a online order World Import for two voltage converters. I used my credit card to pay for those items and for the shipping charge, included in the order. The delivery was sent from Illinois, USA to Quebec, Canada. The packages arrived at my doorstep and the UPS driver gave me a bill for Import Charges (the current custom fees). I gave him that amount in cash, as I never use my credit card for hand-to-hand transactions. Everything was fine and nothing unusual happened. However, three weeks later, I received my monthly credit card report showing that UPS took money from my credit card. I called UPS and after several discussions with many representatives, one of them discovered that World Import used my credit card number to pay the shipping charge to UPS. So that mean I have been charge twice for shipping and World Import give my credit card number to a third party without my authorization or my knowledge. I wrote by email several times to World Import asking them to correct that error with UPS but they refused, telling me that the amount taken by UPS is for custom fees. I sent them by email a copy of the bill given to me by the UPS driver to prove that custom fees was already paid, in cash, and a copy of my credit card report to show that World Import did the double shipping charge but World Import still refused they admitted their error, despite the evidences. So, without the help of World Import, I asked UPS to give back the amount taken from my credit card from them. Without the help of world Import, it was very difficult and painstakingly long, but I managed to get my money back. However, that shipping double charge make me discover that World Import is asking more money for shipping than what UPS really needed (the World Import form asked $64 while UPS wanted $34.66). So that means that World Import: - Asked more for shipping than needed - Have disclosed my credit card number to someone else without my authorization and by that have tried to ship the items without paying - And refused to admit they made the two above even with the evidence presented So that means that World Import tried to steal from me, using UPS as a proxy. I simply want to indicate that World Import tried a fraudulent activity by using UPS as a proxy. Because UPS was able to reimburse the amount, I cannot ask for a refund. I just want to warn others to be cautious if they wan to do business with World Import inc.
