Is www.caprxprogram.org Safe?

caprxprogram.org distributes drug discount cards. They enlist pharmacies to offer cardholders prescription prices equal to the lowest discount prices they offer big insurers. Then caprxprogram.org pays people to hand the discount cards out. There is nothing on the website that explains how caprxprogram.org gets enough income from this to cover their own expenses, let alone offer money to people and organizations handing out the cards. (And some of those affiliates distributing the cards are spamming.) The bottom line is that pharmacies do have to offer discounts to big insurers, and they often have to deal with delays in payment and extra expense for the computer systems necessary to submit claims, further reducing their profit margin. There is no reason someone who pays cash at the time of purchases should pay any more than the big insurers, and if you shop around, you can save a lot of money on your meds. In particular, you may find independent pharmacies offer lower prices on generic drugs and on one-time prescriptions like antibiotics. I checked some prices for this card against a large online pharmacy and found some prices were higher and some were lower, so it doesn't mean you'll automatically get the lowest price and can save the trouble of comparing prices.
