Yahoo is an older and pretty well know search engine. I know a lot of people whom still get their news reports and email from this site. It is still user friendly and as safe as most search engines for children. As long as you are looking up well known sites or previously used sites you shouldn't have to worry about malicious content.

Failing former Internet giant which was always mediocre at best, and had seriously deteriorated in recent years.
Lowest possible rating because they NOW in 2016 admit that hackers stole 500 million account credentials (MD5'd) in 2014, and hackers managed to steal several 100k passwords in 2012.
Most of these are presumably throw-away addresses used by child porn lovers, since no one else seems to be using bloody Yahoo anymore, but still - if you use Yahoo, be aware of their shoddy security (in addition to an inferior search engine and a clueless business strategy).

Usually Yahoo is safe, but their email is NOTORIOUS for getting hacked, and the other thing I have against them is that a yahoo.com page (I know for certain it wasn't a third party page) had an outdated certificate and was blocked by Open DNS as being untrustworthy and potentially dangerous. Use a different search engine and email service and your computer might live a little longer :)
