Yelp engages in illegal activities and covers dubious organizations. Of course not for free. Questionable reputation and questionable reviews about yell allow us to conclude that you need to stay away from yelp. I don't trust this company and I want to warn the others.

Yelp stole money from me and my company from an altered ad budget maximum by an employee, then charged me $500 on top of my average ad bill for that month, of this year, 2019. Their statistics claimed I received a list of phone calls and other inquiries because of my ads, but when I compare them with my actual data, I received NO ACTIVITY FROM YELP. They told me "Sorry, we can't give you a refund, you authorized this maximum, however, we can give you credits for more ads." They also refused to give me my total due for the next bill, stating "We can't give that information, you will have to wait till you are charged to know..." What??? Then when I canceled my ads with them, they went ahead and stated I have a remaining outstanding balance of $25, for 12 hours worth of ads. Really? 12 hours of ads that my analytics showed had no activity to show for? SCAM. FRAUD. But what can we do about it? Now I've been struggling to keep my small business alive because I had barely started turning a profit after years in business, then I have these jerks come in and illegally take my money. I'd like to add that they continually tried to charge me for that remaining $25 and even contacted MY BANK to try and figure out why they wouldn't authorize it, well because it was flagged as a fraud... I would love to get back at Yelp. I would love to get my money back. I would love to be compensated. And I would love to not have to worry about working hard, just to have my hard earned money taken from me. Help? Anyone?

This no good Youth pastor ever came through. I know for a fact the original youth pastor would have given it out of his pocket yet they discarded him like the trash. My bank lady said she saw what their salaries were, and they aren't going brook in this lifetime. The actually have a recruiting team to snag you as you come in the door. Take my advice to join the military at least they pay you.

Legal extortion. Thanks, 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for that ruling. The 9th circuit court basically accepted that they commit extortion, but said it was OK because it is on the 'net. What that means to you is that a business will appear better or worse depending on their reaction to yelp's extortion. And if your review doesn't fit the prescribed pattern? You become a "not recommended", hidden review. Trying to be a little less obvious, they have a "reverse protection racket" going now, too. When a new restaurant is added, they contact ANYTHING in the same category- like restaurant, not type of restaurant- and ask them to advertise. If they do, you see their advert BEFORE the actual restaurant page you're on! It's like asking directions for a place and the person says, "OK, but first, there are two other places around here". Because they paid up. Coupled with the hiding of good, reputable reviews because the business hasn't bought the advertising protection, and I think you can only call this a protection racket, and consider the reviews suspect. They were great reviews before the shuck and jive, but now you can't trust anything on the site. Don't waste your time giving them your opinion. They're as crooked as a dog's hind leg and your review will not be given the consideration that your time and effort deserve. Don't think, "Oh, I'm squeaky clean and very polite". I've seen plenty of those down in the "not recommended" section. Also, very bad about never updating biz info. Think of some place that went out of business about five years ago, restaurants are good, and then look it up. "Open now". Right. Useless, really. If you're going to waste your time with it, then definitely do check out the "not recommended" ones, and NEVER click on the ads between the page heading and the actual reviews for the business you're looking at.
