Definitely not safe for children unless there is adult supervision since a lot of the videos will contain sexual material and bad language. Some people get away with posting porn, yet others get censored and banned for voicing their opinions. Though youtube has a report button for people who promote hate speech and intent to inflict violence, sometimes youtube favors these people and do not remove it, especially if they make a lot of money through adsense. I've also witnessed many videos promoting pedophelia and after convincing a large group of people to report the video with me for a better chance of removing it, they never took it down. Also, as being a member of adsense through making videos on youtube, many of my videos have been removed for copyright when I had absolutely no pieces of footage that violated copyright rules, unless my face and my voice has a patent on it I don't know about. Youtube will often times ignore your disputes for false copyright removals and other times when someone has copyrighted your own videos, they wont do a damn thing and don't give a crap about you. It's good for watching videos, but as far as having an active account, not so great.
Jetzt reichts!
YouTube as everybody knows is the biggest and best video/v-blogs site ever..
but you need to be careful as it is not ALWAYS child safe as in for the people posting videos and teach our kids sometimes bad things..
Trust: the downloads represent the views their creators and generally aren't ment to be documentaries - one needs to be critical.
From time to time racist views and obscene language in the comments section; often registered users 'spamming' to the popular videos with a frequently repeated message ('work at home', suggestive 'check this'-links, religious texts unrelated to the topic etc.).
With children in mind caution should be used: dangerous stunts, which may result hazardous imitations. Language is not always appropriate for children to hear/read.
Of course Youtube it's a great site. But it should take more care about some public content. Sometimes it's very easy to find not-suitable content for children. E.g. very violent scenes or incidental nudity.
