Is zillow.com Safe?

"ZEstimate" is extremely below market value on homes with full basements.  Keep in mind that the square footage of basements IS NOT INCLUDED in the total square footage of a home.  In many cases, these basements add an entire level the the home (essentially, doubling the square footage which is not reported).   A TRUE DISSERVICE TO SELLERS IN THIS TOUGH MARKET.

I dunno how they did it on my Android phone on Verizon (have not rooted phone yet, so don't have access to the necessary app logs), but this company dropped multiple web site icons onto my Android home. NOT a cool thing at all, when all I was doing was reviewing Google Play's applications. Seeing all the preponderance of indicators of bad behavior, I don't trust those links any further than I could throw a mainframe.

Checked on a specific address. The page that came up said: 312 Kyker Rd, Telford, TN 37690 Zestimate: $355,600 Two Google links for the same address said: 312 Kyker Rd, Telford, TN 37690 has a Zestimate home value of ***** 312 Kyker Rd, Telford, TN 37690 has a Zestimate home value of ***** Gee, that's accurate and reassuring! Note that ***** ( a RELIABLE site) says "Estimated Value $479,409"

Using misleading data that does not account for improvements made to the home or the neighborhood. They do not update with new information and end up artificially lowering the value for peoples homes in a time when this is an unacceptable loss for many families. Zillow uses data such as surrounding home's sales prices even if there are two comparable homes, and one is a tear down and the other is is pristine shape! Zillow will use the tear down to value its neighbor. It has no way to add things like not "lend-able" or foundation damage(which can take up to a hundred thousand to repair) etc. It just adds public data, whether correct or not . Basically if that house that burned down in your neighborhood is worth 60,000 so is yours! Even if surrounding homes like it go for say 200,000 otherwise. This does serious financial harm to people all over the US when z estimates are taken seriously by real estate agents or even tax assessors. Buyer and Seller beware!

Do __NOT__ trust this site!!! This site claims to provide 'bonafide' information about properties that they know absolutely NOTHING about. I found this site when I googled the address of where I live. My place of residence is NOT up for sale. Hasn't been for over 25 years! Was NOT sold on in 2010 like they say is was. And it is NOT worth the money they claim it is. It is NOT nearly as big as they claim it is. I could go on but won't. They obviously gather information from various places like mapping resources and others, form what "looks good" and post it even though people have not even contracted with them and don't even know their property is showing up here. Be EXTREMELY wary of giving this site your personal info. It looks like a phishing/vishing attempt.
