We are celebrating two million downloads with a Fantastically Creative WOT logo contest. Create an original logo for WOT in the Google style, and you could win a $100 gift card from Amazon.com.
 
You have seen the clever and cute Google logos. They use their original logo and build a story around it using the season of the year, an event, birthday or even a good idea.
 
For this contest, be inspired by Google, but don't copy one of their designs. Use the WOT logo and design your own story. Our jury of esteemed judges will choose the best one and the lucky winner will have 100 bucks to spend on anything you like!
 
Fantastically Creative WOT logo contest rules

  1. The contest is open to all registered WOT users.
  2. Respond to this posting with your entry. You can use the image tag to add it here, or send us a link to see it.
  3. Submit the link to your entry by midnight December 31, 2008 to the comments section of this blog. By participating in the Fantastically Creative WOT logo contest , you give us permission to use the material in our marketing efforts.
  4. The WOT panel will select one winner who will receive a US $100 gift card from Amazon.com. Winners will be announced on our blog and notified by email no later than January 9, 2009.

    Format please...!

    I like the idea of creating special versions of the WOT logo.
    But WOTs layout is not the same as Googs, not at all...
    What is the max width and height allowed?
    Any other graphical restrictions..?

    PS: The large and medium version of the WOT logo seem identical. Mistake..?

      I don't think there are any restrictions, you're free to use your imagination. :)

      It's not a mistake, Flickr does the resizing and that's the largest version we have there, I believe.

    Still confused...

    Just compared the large and medium version;
    They are identical, both are 300 x 225 pixel.
    So, the large version is missing...?

    WOT logo on Flickr

    This WOT logo has different sizes according to Flickr. Square (75 x 75) Thumbnail (100 x 75) Small (240 x 180) Medium (500 x 375) Large (1024 x 768) I downloaded them all into Photoshop, and it was accurate. Does that work for you?

      Yes, now there's a large version. But this time I only did the same as last: clicked the link you provided in the first post. Same action, different results? Weird..!

    Experience with WOT

    Dear
    I am a surgeon in Paradip ,Orissa India not very much accustomed to web surfing ,this WOT has saved several times from opening dangerous sites and letting me surf the trusted sites.I realy depend on it.I had in installed in firefox of my Windows XP earlier while surfing addons.Since then I had given this messages to many.

    Rating not working

    I have tried to rate a site - http://www.dominikanerinnen-op.de/d/forum.php
    but my rating is not being recorded. Yes, I did click on 'Save'. Anybody got any idea what went wrong ?

      Your rating has been recorded and you can see it on the My ratings page in your profile. It's just that one new user cannot set the rating for a previously unknown website, it takes more ratings.

    PCMightyMax ( computer cleaner) program

    I recently downloaded this program and decided that it was not what I wanted.
    I found it extremely difficult to remove from my computer. A portion of the program only, was removed ( through the add/remove program) on my computer and I was left with two pop ups that locked down the computer until they exited the desktop themselves.
    I am a relative "newbee" to solving problems on the computer so found this daunting.

      The original (displayed in original post) is a "flat" image.
      Beveled and mixed sets have been designed.

        WOT Logo

        I like the basic design very much. I don't know if it meets the "Google-style" criteria, but I don't care. I am undecided as to which of the three versions I like best; they each have certain merits. But as someone who found out about and joined WOT only yesterday, I must say these designs are very impressive.

          Glad you like the design

          Glad you like the basic design, my personal preference is the "mixed" version; the glossy or beveled heart shake stands out nicely from the "flat" image.

          As for Google-style sure it does. Google adds graphics to fore or background on their logo and sometimes replaces one or more letters with an icon.
          Example would be this logo they used for "First hot air balloon flight - June 4, 2008"

          Though Google will change their logo to celebrate a holiday or an event, my logo submission is "event-less" - it's just a logo redesign. However, it could be used to celebrate an X-number of downloads, or a "this site is WOT Approved" [with link to site scorecard], or just for an alternate "Link to myWOT.com" image. What WOT does with these images is their business and even though I'm no graphic artist, I did have fun making these.

          Oh and BTW, welcome to WOT - though I am a newbie myself.

    theme is new year 2009 plus the line - give the gift of WOT
    logo is created on photoshop CS3 and all the color and objects are editable

      Enjoyable theme

      Very nice work mehfuz.
      I like how Evil Elmo (my wife said it looked like Elmo, LOL) is behind bars and how WOT protects us from him. Excited to see the finished image.

      Excellent job!
      I like the New Years theme and also the use of minimal colors; imagine the beauty 3 colors can provide when a true artist takes a brush to hand. Very well done, and worth the wait ;-)
