I suggest g7w for Top Member

I suggest g7w for Top Member or Scam Buster. The member with top activity on this site, he has been working with WOT longer than many of us and has done valuable research to help keep us safe.

I would like to nominate Shazza

Since three people have nominated g7w, I would like to give someone else a chance. (Not that I am saying g7w isn't a good choice, he's a great choice!)

I have chosen this person to nominate for the top member and scam buster awards. Because, while shazza joined at approximately the same time as me, has obviously done more for the community then I!

    re: nominations

Are we restricted to nominating 1 per award category?
Or can we list multiples and let the WOT Staff "sort them out?" :-)

    .

g7w - WOT Top Member. For his accuracy in rooting out all URL's related to bad web sites.

difrawi_defrawy - Scam Buster. For his relentless pursuit in outing all money making schemes.

Publicity award - Maybe the staff could help us out here and post some of the sites that link back to WOT? I link here from a few different places but don't want to nominate myself.

Can you fill the GOM shoes?

That was an affectionate joke award given last year, but if you think there are some worthy candidates this year, I suppose we can keep it going. Let me know privately, and of course, you may nominate yourself!

I would also like to nomiate phantazm

For top member award. Now that I know I can nominate more then one person. :D
Anyway, phantazm, helps many people on the forums. And he really helped me! While it might seem small it saved me so much time. I asked, how to remove the spaces when domain names were listed.

    Short memories?

I cant believe no-one has yet suggested cotojo for Top Member or ScamBuster!
Whilst he may not be around so much at the moment, his work testing rogues and
assisting other users with problems has been invaluable over the last 12 months.
So I would like to thank him & also g7w for their help & hard work!

Short memories - or voting confusion..?

shazza: "I cant believe no-one has yet suggested cotojo for Top Member or ScamBuster!"

Are you sure that no-one has..?
My own initial impression was that voting was private, not public.
Perhaps many already have voted for cotojo, without mentioning it here..?

Anyway, cotojo is also a good suggestion; thanks for reminding us...

shazza: "Whilst he may not be around so much at the moment..."

One could say the same about wehaveitall; he too should be mentioned,
especially for his initial wiki efforts...

Another one, who hasn't been around lately (but not quit either): logicman...

David rocks! There should be a HOF award (Hall of Fame). He is savvy and intelligent when it comes to internet security, I just wish he was one of our authors at TechJaws.

    cotojo, g7w, shazza

Well, i think cotojo is the top member of the year 2009.

    1. he rated many websites and helped userson wot very well
    2. he has a good website about security
    3. he is an active youtube member with lots of good videos

and yes, g7w is also very nice and helpful on wot. i know him, he's also nice. so it's not easy - i think both of them should get an adward

and there's also shazza.. it's not easy, really. on wot there are so many nice and helpful users! how can we find somebody best?

Stay safe and be nice to me.

Have you forgotten this Opera/WOT fan..?

Deborah S: "Super clever WOT fan PH from France has used the WOT API to create something many people have been asking for - WOT for Opera! "

Surely this also deserves to be acknowledged..!

I nominate the entire WOT community

I don't really know enough about anybody to fairly nominate someone.

There has probably been a few WOT soldiers that have really cleaned house (like Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando) and made a big impact. All the more power to them....thanks guys!

Like I always say, WOT is the world's best security tool and I never leave my home page without it.

    Publicity Award 2009

Nominate myself for Publicity Award 2009, because I am constantly giving users (on the forums outside of WOT) advice on how to stay safe from bad websites. I link them to WOT, and give them a tutorial on how to install it and use it, etc.

Nominate g7w for Scam Buster 2009, because he is always battling against scam artists. I always see a new round of domains to rate, and scams to recognize. (And MysteryFCM should be nominated too).

Nominate g7w for Top Member 2009, because every time I see him explaining something here on WOT, he puts full detail in to the work.

    I would nominate myself for

I would nominate myself for the Publicity Award due to the fact that I have been constantly pestering schoolmates and family to install Firefox and get WOT, but as I haven't actually succeeded in converting anyone out of the 300 odd people I've been at, I won't.

G7W for Top Member 2009, for reasons previously stated.

    Nominations

    Having a hard choice.
Would like to nominate for top member: g7w. He's arguably the guy who works the hardest here on WOT.
Scam buster, g7w, same reason stated above.
    xxz,(surprised no one nominated him. he's a hard worker too, don't forget he;s 2nd),
Not sure about the publicity one though.

I usually don't nominate since I won a scambuster award.. But I just came accross Warxas who is dropping in mad hosts files.. Good way to ensure bad sites get blocked etc.. Ill nominate him for Scambuster Award...

If Leo & Steve finally take a good look at WOT id give them the celebrity 2009 awards ;) ...

The mass rate tool pretty much took me out of the top 10 instantaneously when it came out..

    Peace

I must nominate her as well for the scam buster award.
She carefully takes her time testing out many sites and running them through Wepawet unmask parasites and Anubis.

    g7w for Top Member

    g7w for Top Member 2009.

I've done a bit, but nothing special. I just mass rate sites manually without the tool. g7w is a legend and deserves the award.
