Introducing a translation feature

The versatility of languages is richness, but they are a bit tricky to understand if you don’t happen to speak the language in question. Therefore, we have added a new feature to help our users communicate with each other.
The new feature translates scorecard comments, forum discussions, and board messages from French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, and Turkish into Russian or English, which are the languages that our site is currently translated to. You can also use it to translate from Russian to English and vice versa. Simply press Translate and it will show the text in the language you are using the site.
The feature is provided by Yandex Translate. Спасибо!

That would be my choice too. Comes in handy for ordering a take-away too ;)

Especially if the take-away calls itself Fu King Good Food (yes, there really are such take-aways in the UK). You just know that it must mean something completely different in Chinese, and that the take-away owner clearly hasn't quite grasped the English language and its nuances.
I am reminded of a true story of a Western Buddhist Monk giving a desana (lecture) in Thailand. The monk's native language was English but he was giving the talk in Thai, which is a language that is very nuanced with pronounciation and intonation being very important. The talk was supposed to be about Group Meditation but every time he said, "Group Meditation", the Thai audience would laugh. Mystified, the monk ploughed on with the desana, and it wasn't until after he had finished that he was told that his intonation of the phrase, "Group Medition", actually meant "Pig Meditation".

I see the homepage: mywot.com and the scorecards share the same minimal footer which has a Choose language link but the forum/blog has the extended footer with no language choice option.
Shouldn't the footer be the same for all pages and maybe incorporate the language selection link as well?

Good point. Language selector is back to all pages.

You coudl learn Spanish beaucose its the third language more speaked in the world

Sorry annaleena, this is not new. It is a partial return of a feature which was removed when Google[?] objected to the volume of demand coming from Web of Trust users. The loss of this necessary feature was not helpful.
Glad to see that WOT Services has found an alternative service provider.

Many will still need Google Translate?
Perhaps it would have been better to lean on Google and get them to co-operate?
"Google Safe Browsing"? Not if that involves partnerships with others besides Mozilla?

Unfortunately, the Web of Trust Blog page messed up the binary string which "c۞g" attempted to post here.
Now that the Web of Trust Blog page has been asked to quote c۞g's binary string in a reply, anyone wishing to decode c۞g's message now has a copiable version here, and my original offering is redundant?

That is not accurate. If you look at the Global financial market .
Japan, is ahead of America by 10 or more years in technology, and then - Germany, European markets will come in.
Try using translator feature, It does not or cannot act like a real person for context understanding, cultural insight or how to do a correct structure for a sentence. The translator can only translate words *How you format the words and make sentences are the hard part. G**gle T does ok, but it can be frustrating when reading a book. It is real frustrating on blog pages in Russian.
If you play with g**gle translate you will see what I mean:
In Enslish, "I have a dog with runs, will you help me take him to a vet?" Now any language will show up. Open a different translator site and put in the foreign sentence. It will be jumbled and make not a bit of sense!
Be warned - just like automatic captioning on youtube - you never know what your reading is correct or just an avoidable puddle.

More seriously. I think that those translators are very helpful (but far than perfect). IMHO, these translations open doors to many people, and it is much more easy to click on "Translate" than to open a translator, "Copy/paste" and translate.
Location : Belgium. Native language : French. Other languages : English and Spanish. (Both approximatively)

This seems like a very helpful feature. It would be handy to have when trying to read what people who speak a language other than mine would write.
