User Awards 2012 – Cast your vote!

Dear community members,

In 2008 – 2010 WOT had a tradition of acknowledging dedicated community members with yearly User Awards. Back then, the awards were given out in three categories: Top Member, Scam Buster, and Publicity. In 2011 the tradition was put on a hiatus, but now it’s back with a renewed concept!

We want to thank you, dear community members, for your work during 2012. The focal point of the community, the forum, is where lot of the work happens. Therefore, we are focusing on the activities on the forum when giving out the awards.

The award categories

This year, the awards are given out in four categories:

The Most Active award goes to the user that has started most forum discussions – brought new online threats to light and maintained an active discussion within the community. Most Active Award
The Problem Solver award goes to the user that has replied most to site evaluation requests – helped site owners to deal with problems with their site’s reputation. Problem Solver Award
The Techie award goes to the user that has been active on the support forum – helped other users with technical issues. Techie Award

The winners of these categories will be based on numbers. This means that we will take a look at the actual activities on the forum and give the award to the user that has been the most active in each category.

The winner in the fourth category will be selected based on your votes. The category is:

Member of the Year
The WOT community is about working together towards a common goal: safer and more trustworthy web. Who do you think has been the most active, helpful, and respectful to others, and helped the community work together with a positive attitude? Make sure your voice is heard and cast your vote!

How to vote the Member of the Year

Starting from today, you will see a voting button on each registered user’s profile page. Just go to the profile page of the user you want to vote, and press the Vote button to cast your vote. You can access users’ profiles, for example, on the forum (the user name links to the profile), or by using this search function.

Each registered user has one vote, and the voting happens anonymously. You cannot vote for yourself, or any of WOT’s employees. The results remain secret until the winner is announced, which will take place on Monday 14th of January 2013.
