The topmost comment said he/she thinks people are overacting. Well, I got nothing against sites getting revenue, even profit over what they need to keep the site running. That's fine, but first of all I use NoScript because I don't want any unnecessary scripts running. I also only accept what AdBlock Plus Non-Intrusive Ad's campaign defines acceptable - I have that disabled though, simply because I've never clicked and ad on web and never will, so even those would be waste of space. But even when I had the allowed, I knew those ads don't need scripts to run - and in fact googles ad service is pretty flawed code wise if it can't handle showing ads without scripting. But the MAIN POINT: It's not just innocent advertising. It's online tracking, profiling, etc. etc. - and that makes it totally untrustworthy for me. As for suitability for children - no, I don't think internet ads are such things. And when it comes to google, I have in fact set NoScripts more advanced feature, ABE (Application Boundary Enforcement) to have very strict rules for various google owned sites for which domains are allowed to contact them. So if this site to contact facebook (ok, I have similar, but even more strict rules for facebook), although noscript menu shows ***** allowed, the ABE rules allow any cross site contacts to facebook domains only from those facebook domains themselves - this ensures facebook works, but no other sites attempt to contact facebook for scripts (or whatever) fails - and it's blocked so deep inside firefox it's kinda firewall, the site will never know the browser blocks the connection - it only attempts to make one and doesn't get a reply. I only explained the facebook thing because it was easier to provide actual case example, and the reasons why I treat google and facebook this way are same - they practice tracking and profiling, and they sell the profiling data to 3rd parties as well, if it wasn't bad enough already. Block this domain, it's unnecessary and harmful.

There are a few reasons for my rating. Firstly, this domain is owned by Google, which makes it fairly poor in terms of privacy. Moreover, when trying to access this site, you are instantly redirected to Google's search page, which is strange. Apparently, we're not supposed to see what's there. Lastly, googlesyndication.com is an advert site, which would be another reason to avoid it. If you have Firefox, use NoScript to block it. If you don't, get it as this and many other sites make it worth it.
