I attempted to purchase a ticket through GoTickets for Titanique in Chicago, and what unfolded was a masterclass in deception and digital trickery. Let me be absolutely clear: GoTickets is NOT a legitimate ticket seller. They are a third-party reseller pretending to be one — and they go out of their way to hide that. Here’s how they lured me in: * They paid for top billing in Google search results, appearing above the official Ticketmaster listing. * Their site design is made to mimic trusted platforms like Ticketmaster — with no prominent disclosure that you're buying from a resale marketplace. * They told me the ticket I was viewing was the lowest price available (it wasn’t). * They added urgency tactics like a visible countdown clock (which literally shakes), fake limited availability (“only 1 ticket left!”), and other false advertising cues that pressured me to complete the sale. * They even falsely claimed to offer a 100% guarantee, implying that everything was secure and final. * Here’s the real kicker: the exact same seat — same row, same section — was available from the official seller for $101.80. GoTickets charged me $164. Within seconds of submitting my order, I requested a refund. I even received an automated email from them acknowledging that my order wasn’t confirmed yet. Despite this, their customer service agent kept me in a prolonged, stalling chat while — suspiciously — I received system emails showing movement on my ticket while I was waiting for help. It felt like they were trying to confirm the order behind the scenes before responding again, just to justify denying my refund. When I finally laid out my case — with screenshots showing that their site never disclosed their status as a reseller, that no real confirmation had been given, and that they used deceptive tactics — their final answer was: “Just dispute the charge with your bank.” This company uses coercive, manipulative, and unlawful practices to mislead consumers and inflate ticket prices. Horrible scammers. Charged 4 times face value of easily obtained tickets. Immediately after order attempted to cancel. Live chat froze and remained frozen. Finally found email. Customer service completely nonexistent. Generic responses ultimately stating no cancellation or refund regardless of circumstances. Stay away.
