Given the recent lawsuits where they were found to be NOT doing their due diligence or doing what they said they would to protect people -- plus their staunchly continuing to stand behind Rush LimBog as sponsor after thousands of people wrote and boycotted them, I'm done with Lifelock.

It's a legal scam using FUD to trick users to think that they actually need this extra level of protection.

It doesn't do anything more than what you can do for yourself for free. They also used deceptive advertising right off the bat to get customers. *****

well i'm glad i checked here before signing up. I lost my wallet and in it was my drivers license my bank card which i have canceled and worst of all my social security number. I have two questions, why does this site show a green circle rating by the website when so many people have reported it being a scam, even a posted letter about a settlement case. This makes me wonder if i can trust any ratings from this on Google searches. One other question, does ANYONE have any idea of A TRUE way to protect my Identity? Besides not carrying your social in you freak'n' wallet.

Category #2: false advertisment. Go to this website: ***** Heres what the .gov site says: LifeLock, Inc. has agreed to pay $11 million to the Federal Trade Commission and $1 million to a group of 35 state attorneys general to settle charges that the company used false claims to promote its identity theft protection services, which it widely advertised by displaying the CEO's Social Security number. The FTC and 35 states have charged LifeLock with deceptive advertising. According to the lawsuit, LifeLock claimed its service would protect consumers against all forms of identity theft, when, in fact, LifeLock offered only limited protection against only some forms of ID theft. The FTC is using the $11 million it received from the settlement to provide partial refunds to current and former LifeLock customers who paid for LifeLock services before April 1, 2009. Refund checks are currently being mailed to eligible customers. Eligible customers do not need to contact the settlement administrator or the FTC in order to receive a check. Consumers who have any questions may call ***** or visit *****

I got a letter from the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION WASHINGTON D.C. 20580 Office of Attorney General, Bill McCollum State of Florida The Capitol PL-01 Tallahassee, FL ***** Dear Consumer, We're writing because you were a consumer of LifeLock. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, and 36 state attorneys general - including Bill McCollum, the Attorney General of Florida - recently settled lawsuits against LifeLock and two of its founders. According to the FTC and the attorneys general, LifeLock did not deliver the level of identity theft protection it promised and failed to protect customers who subscribed to LifeLock on or before April 1, 2009. The enclosed check is your share of the settlement. Please cash this check no later than 60 (sixty) days from the date of the check. After that, the check could bounce and your bank could charge you for a fee. If you cash this check, you're not giving up any legal rights you have against LifeLock, but the amount of the check may be deducted from any other money you get from LifeLock. Please call us toll-free at ***** if you have any questions. For more about this lawsuit, visit ***** That site also has information about protecting yourself from identity theft. Sincerely, Office of the Settlement Administrator

There is only one way to restore ID Theft and there is more to ID theft then what the company provides or claims to provide. almost 5 years of business and pending approval of patents. Kroll Background International the leading 37+ year old company who hires more Ex Federal employees then any ID company out there and holds the PATENTS to ID Theft protection and resolution to 100% prior to the theft happening. Kroll does the work for you until you are satisfied with the results.
