This site allows anyone to see personal information about you without even having an account. You can opt out, which is good, but anyone who isn't aware of the opt out will be an easy target for stalkers, spammers, etc. Most legitimate family history sites require at least an account (if not a fee) before revealing personal information. I would avoid this site and make sure to opt out if you don't want everyone on the internet to be able to have your address, children's names (and addresses if they don't live with you), parents info, etc.

I researched familytreenow.com and found out the owner of this site is also the owner of ***** is Dustin R. Weirich. His nickname on the site is merely “Dustin”. Mr. Weirich also incorporated a business in California on August 30, 2004 called Search Floor, Inc. The registered address for this internet related business is 117 Lost Oak Court, Roseville, CA, ***** This address is believed to be his home address. Apparently this Dustin R. Weirich character runs several scams including familytreenow.com. There are number of complaints on several complaint boards and all over the web and this Dustin person is named in almost every compliant. The websites are definitely unsafe and you could risk getting hacked and possibly ope yourself to more than one virus and losing all your information.

familytreenow.com is a scam genealogy website. Stalkers are allowed to maliciously add and share any personal records and private information about a person even if it is inaccurate. Don't trust this site. Every time someone writes a complaint in familytreenow.com facebook page or on the web they ends up taking it down. Even on their facebook page, if you leave a negative comment they will immediately take it down. Nothing is free. This is how scammers usually get people hooked. They use bait words like, "free." Why would this website pay money to create a website and take precious time out of their lives to publicly post millions of personal records and private information that doesn't even belong to them?
