Le site freeroms.com est-il sûr ?

Any time a ROM ends with .EXE, something is very fishy about the site.

The website used to be reputable, but it has recently been either hacked by or sold to an adware company. Downloads from the site show as being from "Farmgiftbundle", rather than freeroms. Game files are supposed to be .zip files, but it downloads .exe files instead. I'm not sure if these files are trojans, because I am on chrome os, which cannot run them. The site is no longer trustworthy.

Some people say freeroms.com has viruses, but i use this site alot and didn't find anything wrong or ever had any problems with it, it has all your oldie games ready to download and play!

Avast caught an adware virus in the file I attempted to download when I scanned it. Just don't do it, find another site. If you use Coolrom's alternative link, it can get you most things that aren't Nintendo. I'm pretty sure you can't even find Nintendo roms or isos anymore.

it works. sure the file comes in a .exe installer but as long as youre not an idiot and decline the easily spotted adware, youll get your ROM/ISO with no problem. its 2017, everyone should be able to spot the adware that bloats any installer these days.

I tried to download an n64 rom and it came in as an .exe file. Roms are not exe files. I did not launch the program because I new it was most likely a virus. I hope this helps at least some people.

Es un buen sitio para descargar ROMS de juegos antiguos, pero debes tener cuidado al hacer eso, algunos son sospechosos o directamente malware, si tienes cuidado y un buen antivirus es bastante útil.

Do NOT listen to people saying this website doesn't have viruses. They're probably too ignorant people or accounts made by the website. This website is supposed to give roms. Roms doesn't come in a .EXE! they come as they are, or in an archive file like zip, rar or 7z. Never trust a website that gives .exe for rom files.

Be careful on how you try to get the ROM on this site. I just tried to get one and some other program tried downloading as an .EXE file with the same name of the ROM instead of a .ZIP. Thanks to my lighting reflexes I managed cancel the download before it was able to finish.

When I tried downloading a rom from this site, I had to download it from an installer, and the installer came with a bunch of adware and malware I had to remove afterwards, which included stuff like Yontoo, something called "PremierOpinion" and the "Searchinterneat-a.akamaihd.net" adware. I dunno if it's like it for all of the roms on this site but just be careful anyway.

I dont know why people think this website has viruses or malware, i have avg, malware bytes, avast and many other anti virus programmes and all is fine. I love this site i can play pokemon on my gba emulator, thankyou for making this website, one of the few that has no spam or anything bad unlike other websites. I definately trust the website.
