Many of these recordings contain vulgar language, graphic descriptions of sexual assault, drug dealing, racial violence, and other nasty stuff in a manner that glorifies the behavior rather than condemning or parodying the behaviors. They completely dictate the direction of music in the United States and have corporate lobbyists with the US Congress. The RIAA hates competition and will do anything to suppress it. Allies of the RIAA include iHeartMedia Inc. and Billboard. The website is simple to navigate, but the RIAA has been known to track users outside the website just after visiting their website once.

This organization has sued innocent people, has engaged in racketeering and profiteering, has denied musicians due royalties and more.
