I must have been not in my right mind when I signed up for AS. I'm also a member of ***** and I have had dates there regularly until this coronavirus outbreak. Having used a good dating site for months, I didn't know how fraudulent dating sites could be. I don't know why AS used the word "academic" in their name. You can hardly find anyone with higher education degree, but there are a lot of people who can't even spell their job title. I thought I had cancelled my membership, but they charged me for another year. It was a very complicated task to really cancel and stop these scoundrels from pilfering money from my bank account.

My Mum signed up to the "Dating Site", once she did she soon discovered that the site offered a paid membership that only displays a per month price but charges you upfront for the entire membership for example stating 7.99/month for 6 months but charging you the entire amount immediately without stating that it does this.
