Is acronymfinder.com Safe?

I contributed many acronyms to this site several years ago. I have always found it useful and did what I could to contribute acronyms. I knew that they were not in the site's breakout of the acronyms. Never had a problem with the site, per se. Now, since I met a milestone and they listed one of my e-mail addresses under contributors, I have had SPAM to that address ever since for years. That is my only regret regarding contributing to this site. I do not blame them. I blame the spammers who are quite calculated, deliberate and malicious in their actions to obtain, use, sell, scam and spam the addresses they steal from such sites. Let this be a lesson to you. Contribute to good sites with useful information, BUT DON'T give your real e-mail address to be listed as a contributor. You can derive pleasure from what you have done by knowing what you have contributed. But you don't have to set yourself up for years of SPAM from these cyber-criminals. Just be careful and circumspect.
