IT CAN BURN OUT YOUR CPU (PROCESSOR) !!! I ran the BOINC installer with default settings - and my CPU temperature sat at over 182F (over 83C). I have the latest Intel icore i5 processor (CPU) and I checked the Intel specs and the MAXIMUM temperature of the case (outer case - or Tcase) is 162F (72C). This program ran for over a day before I installed ASUS Probe (a motherboard monitoring tool) which came with the motherboard on my PC. It was ONLY THEN I FOUND OUT THAT IF I KEPT IT UP FOR ANOTHER FEW DAYS MY CPU WOULD DIE. I mean honestly, I was lucky that (more or less by chance) I installed a monitoring tool not long after setting up BOINC WITH DEFAULT SETTINGS. My CPU idles at about 104F (40C) even while having P2P maxed out running 300 simultaneous connections and downloading about 100 at a time, so my hard drives are crunching - I have a 2TB drive for outgoing and 2TB drive for incoming files, while cy operating system sits on a third - I download about 50Gig-70Gig a day (in 12 hours offpeak) every day, and I have about 20-50 IE windows open at the same time as running other programs, my CPU ALWAYS sits in the 104F-110F (40C-45C) range. If you install this BOINC software MAKE SURE you monitor you CPU temperature !!!!!!!!!! I was lucky, because running a CPU at those temps can fry it in a few minutes - I guess I was lucky. I build custom rigs/computer setups from scratch, and this was a stock unoverclocked CPU in an OPEN CASE (I mean one side of the case is off as I'm always playing around with it). "
