Upon downloading the CamStudio software, AVG detected malware in it.

The application instantly began to attempt to install adware, highly unrecommended. When a screen recording was attempted, the application just crashed. Definitely a scam.

When you download this website, it tries to make changes to your pc. I didn't allow any of them, which will probably always be a good idea. After the setup wizard didn't actually download camstudio, I deleted everything to do with it in my files.

So being curious as to WHY this website has a green rating, as well as an almost 90 something positive feeback, yet people claiming it had viruses, I used virus total to scan the download link. It scans with many different virus softwares and came back with one malware alert. I wouldnt advise downloading it.

Download link is safe, but make sure to decline all offer when installing. Better than those watermarking Bandicam, though.

The first link on the page is a virus down-loader. DO NOT CLICK IT. This page may contain a legitimate download, but there are multiple scam downloads so be careful.

Установщик camstudio содержит в себе кучу установщиков рекламного ПО, которое антивирусу идетентифицируют как трояны. Если решили установить себе программу, лучше скачать с сайта соурсфордж, а ещё лучше скомпилировать. К сожалению, автор программы избрал скользкий путь в монетизации.

Takes over firefox and changes your home page to their yahoo page.. then it messes up the browser so that you can not get to options menu to fix the problem. Also force installs a bunch of nonsense programs. Avoid like the plague.

Download was replaced by a download wrapper which tries to install several other programs (such as Norton Anti-Virus) in addition to CamStudio. There is an alternate download link embedded in the URL for the download wrapper, however there is no link to this alternate download on the CamStudio page, and obviously the average user would never know how to find it.
