This site spams constantly, sending out fake notices about alleged classmates who obviously don’t exist. Untrustworthy.

(Aside from the fake profiles embellishing the site), ***** is just one of many online scams. Nothing is free, regardless of initial claims. Prepare to be spammed and misled.

Scam site. They pretend to have high school yearbook data, but what they're actually doing is spamming you unmercifully and using your query to create actual data. They use your registration to populate their dB. They started with not one iota of data- total fraud. They still don't have hardly anything, and everything they have comes from phishing people that signed up and believed their lies. They constantly phish and phish and phish...which is their only source of data. Where are they at that no one can shut down such a blatant privacy scam?!? In the US. WTF is it about the US that you commit fraud constantly, you get arrested and/or sued, but ***** problem? And it gets better. Classmates is now operated as a division of PeopleConnect, which also owns Intelius. Intelius- you know the one that locates people? Gee. I wonder what they're now also using your sign-up data for?

They sure want a lot of data from their questions. Also, they want $$ for some of their features..

These guys change names after they get caught in their scams. ***** and classmates.com are now known as/owned by MyLife.com. They spammed me. When I asked them via Facebook how they got my email address, they responded with my actual first name, rather than my Facebook alias. So, somehow they know my real name based solely on knowing my Facebook alias. In order to provide me with more info, they wanted me to give them even more of my private info. They claim that they "obtain the information through various domains such as court documents, marriage/birth certificates, voter information, census records, etc; all of which are public records." That is a lie because none of those records have my email address or Facebook name/alias. So, I asked them again how they got my email address and real first name based off of knowing only my Facebook user name and they gave me the runaround. When I called them about my privacy concerns, they refused to provide their last names due to privacy concerns. Ironic, ain't it? The supervisor I spoke to was contradicting himself left and right. After each time he promised to tell me who gave them my private info, he told me he could not. Then he denied ever stating that he could give me that info.

Updated Review: A poor rating for Trustworthiness, and Unsatisfactory WOT rating for Child Safety from me.. When visiting the site, I got ads or pop-ups telling me to download Rogue( (fake) anti-virus software! I had to use the CTRL+Alt Delete command to bring up Task Manager to End Task all instances of Internet Explorer to get out. I have received tons of E-Mail Spam, from *****. This company will solicit your e-mail address and potentially your financial information to untrusted third-party vendors. Here is an example of someone who got scammed by ***** (His story.) ***** . ***** simply can no longer be trusted. It should be rated down for ads/pop-up issues, (My chosen category), spam, and unethical business practices. I encourage WOT users to take these negatives into account when rating this site. Classmates.com is now totally a scam, and a fraud and should be avoided! This site should be rated NO HIGHER THAN YELLOW IN ANY WOT CATAGORIES!

I was attracted to the site because it offered "free" viewing of yearbooks... First, it asked me to register with email, year born, year graduated, etc... ... didn't like some of that... after giving them all that info', I then clicked on view the yearbooks, and it presented me with a choice of "membership levels", all requiring payment before learning anything about what content I would see, or how complete it might be. That is when I pulled the plug. I feel I was mislead, and now they will likely sell my contact information and I will likely be inundated with spam. I put this site in the same category as most scammers.

BEWARE, once you sign up and they have your credit card number they keep charging you even after you cancel. You can't find a phone. Stay away from this site! They have charged me twice after my cancellation.

A vanity search on Google shows my attending for four years a College by an entirely different name. It even shows me attending the College over which for two of the four years I was still in high school (11th-12th grade). If you are inclined to believe in the trustworthiness of the Classmates website, you have been led astray. --BRH
