I have been utilizing ebay for nearly 20 years, as a solid buyer and I haven't had any issues with the ebay platform directly, at all. I'm not sure if I have even dealt with them directly for anything at all, honestly. The few issues I have experienced have been between the seller and myself. I recall only a few incidents over the years and every has always been corrected properly, or made right as agreed, just as business should be handled. #ebayworks4me
Let's say, that this site is BIG market with all the stuff You don't need, but You still order them. Long delivery time, sometimes You don't receive the stuff You have ordered or they have shipped something else.
Although eBay is working to clean up their reputation, they still have a long way to go. Too many unscrupulous vendors misrepresent their products or sell fakes on this website (e.g., flash drives). Additionally, I receive email offers that come directly from eBay with coupon offers that do not work!
Let the buyer beware! If you’re looking for discounted products online, consider using Amazon instead.
ebay is a prolific online shopping/auction site that, while popular, has numerous problems with product manipulation, bait-and-switch scams and other issues (https://edition.cnn.com/2020/09/27/tech/ebay-cockroach-pig-mask/index.html)
Their site is also vulnerable, at this time, to drown attacks:
Отстойный сайт. Ещё терпимо, что оплата товаров доступна только через PayPal, НО, заказывал я на свой адрес два физических товара и ни один не пришел. Электронные товары приходят хорошо, а физические - нет. Интерфейс неудобный, захотите подробности узнать о товаре (статус, дата доставки, дата заказа и т.д), этого сделать не сможете
Ebay began as an online auction site where people could sell their unwanted goods to the highest bidder. Therefore the website has always been more open to second-hand goods than Amazon. In general, you can sell just about anything on eBay, either new or used.
However, there are certain items that eBay does not allow. Some are prohibited for security reasons, others to comply with local laws. Some items are not completely prohibited, but there are restrictions on buying and selling.
Here is an incomplete list of items that are either prohibited or restricted on eBay.
Items for adults. Anything that contains "sexually oriented adult material" may only be sold to buyers who are 18 years of age or older, and the listings for these items may not contain explicit content. In addition, sellers must obtain pre-approval from eBay to list items in the "Sex toys, fetish items and accessories" category.
Alcohol and drugs. You cannot sell narcotics, steroids, prescription drugs, or other controlled substances on eBay. You can sell over-the-counter drugs, but only if they have not expired and are in their original packaging. The only alcoholic beverage you are allowed to sell is wine, and only if the website gives you special permission for this type of sale.
Animals and wildlife. You cannot sell pets or other live animals on eBay. The sale of ivory and items made of ivory is also prohibited. There are also special rules for selling various other animal parts, such as furs.
Clothing. You can sell most types of used clothing on eBay, but not underwear, socks, and some types of sports equipment. However, cloth diapers and diaper covers are allowed. Clothes must be clean and stain-free, and you must clearly mark them as used.
cosmetics. You can only sell cosmetics, applicators and make-up sponges if they are unused and in their original packaging. You can sell your homemade cosmetics if they meet the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration.
vouchers. You can sell your unused, valid coupons on eBay, but not more than 25 coupons or $100 per month. Coupons for free products are also not allowed.
documents. You can't sell government-issued IDs or documents, such as a driver's license or passport, on eBay. There is an exception for antique or vintage documents like birth certificates and marriage certificates that are over 100 years old.
Electronic equipment. Most electronic equipment can be sold on eBay, but you cannot sell items that are banned by the Federal Communications Commission. This includes devices that interfere with cellular and GPS signals, decryption devices for satellite TV, and listening or eavesdropping devices.
Food. You can sell groceries on eBay, but you must state the expiration date in the listing and explain how to prevent them from spoiling during shipping. For all sales of infant formula, the website also requires special wording in the listing.
Dangerous materials. There is a long list of dangerous items that are banned on eBay. These include fireworks, fire extinguishers, most pesticides, anything that is explosive or radioactive, and anything that contains certain harmful chemicals such as mercury, cyanide, and chloroform. You also cannot sell products that are currently not allowed to be sold due to a recall.
Anti-theft devices. The sale of lock picking equipment and most types of locksmith equipment is prohibited. There are exceptions for a few items, such as antique skeleton keys.
Weapons. You cannot sell guns and other firearms on eBay, although some gun parts are allowed. Most types of ammunition are also prohibited. Most knives may be sold, but certain types - such as switchblades and sword sticks - are prohibited.

How the sites work
If the item you want to sell is not allowed on one of these websites, the question is pretty much settled from the start. But if it's allowed on both sites, the next thing you need to know is what the sale will look like. To sell items on either Amazon or eBay
