Is freecreditscore.com Safe?

I registered this site on May 2015. A lot may have changed since the last review of this site. But as of right now, I did not have to register to view my credit report for Experian. However, if you request your FICO score, or credit reports from the other Bureaus Equifax and Transunion, that will cost. The Experian alone, is in fact free. For me at least. Not a scam.

This site is run by Experian, one of the three major credit bureaus in the US. I have been using ***** for over a year now and they have been nothing but a breeze to work with. The price is fair and the credit tracking you get is top notch. Whoever reported this website as untrustworthy either never used it personally or rated an extremely old and outdated version of the website.

I totally agree with Ginger1205. This site charges the user for credit information which can be obtained for free @ ***** I personally use the FREE website to get my credit reports from each of the 3 credit reporting agencies. Freecreditscoredotcom is a ripoff !!! Don't be suckered in to this site and wind up paying for credit information which can be obtained for free!

Bad customer service. I signed up for the free trial and cancelled within 3 days but they kept charging me. No response from customer service for weeks. This is a bait and switch. They'll bait you with a free trial and scam you out of money and beat around the bush so you can give up. However, I don't give up. File a complaint with your state's attorney general. BBB is not helpful. Attorney general gets results faster.

I signed up for this to get my 'free credit report' with the intention of cancelling after I downloaded my FREE report. I called them up to cancel after I got my report before the billing was supposed to start, and the person on the other line treated me like crap because I wanted to cancel. He kept saying I shouldn't cancel and trying to strong arm me and even got upset because I kept telling him I wanted to cancel. Then after I got off the phone with the guy and he said he was going to cancel my account, he did not cancel it. Instead I got charged. It took me forever and a LOT of hassal to get them to stop charging me. Then when I looked at my report, I found that they only gave me a credit history, it didn't even come with a credit score, you have to pay extra for that. This was NOT worth all the crap that came along with it. I am SORELY disappointed.

If you want to know about your credit go directly to each of the three credit bureaus sites: Trans Union, Experian and Equifax they have credit monitoring there and the last time I checked it was free for a month, then I canceled before my 30 days were up so I did not have to pay a monthly fee. I also paid for my credit scores from all three bureaus for less then $8.00, that is a excellent deal. Check each out from time to time to see who has the best offers! Why pay a middle man more when you can go to the source for less! Happy New Year and Best Wishes to all!

I was first drawn into this site from their catchy ads on TV. However upon further investigation, the features on this site aren't truly free and highly misleading. Please save yourself the time and headache and avoid using this site to check your credit score.
