So I posted this in their Facebook page, and not 5 minutes passed before they deleted it. I thought it was a glitch, so I posted it again. And poof. It disappeared less than a minute later. Then I posted it in Feedback Friday as a comment. And guess what? They deleted it again. This is something that they are trying to keep under wraps, because it's the truth. It is something that can undermine their so-called good standing with parents, that proves their so-called "family friendly game" is nothing more than a ploy for good publicity. All other game companies that I have publicly confronted have always responded professionally to explain their motives. Oh no, but not KingsIsle. And there can only be one logical explanation for this: they have something to hide. So. This is what I posted: Hi. My account is approximately 6 years old, made in 2009. I have never broken a game rule; never been warned, muted, or banned. And a few months ago, I purchased something in the game for the very first time... 10,000 crowns using a gift card. I purchased another 10,000 crowns using another gift card shortly after that. After that purchase, the "Upgrade Now" button next to the crowns shop disappeared and I was granted access to the Report feature. Since then, I have only used the Report feature exactly once, and it was to report a particularly unpleasant fellow that evaded the chat filter to swear and harass everyone. A few weeks passed. Then a couple of days ago, I noticed something changed. My Report feature was greyed out. My reporting privilege was gone. Then I noticed something else. The "Upgrade Now" button came back. I did not submit a false report. The "Upgrade Now" button came back the same time that my Report feature was disabled. So I can only come to one conclusion. Despite the perfectly valid report, whoever reviewed it noticed that I'm not a member, so apparently my right to feel safe in a so-called family-friend game was non-existent. Apparently, I was irrelevant. A player, loyal to the game, with a six years old account and an untainted record that spent $40 in gift cards to support the game had his reporting privilege—his right to feel safe—revoked. Just like that. And his crime? Not being a paying member of the game. I know that someone consciously revoked it, because it otherwise would not have been available to me for so many months before my first report. Is this how KingsIsle wants to operate? Is this how they want to be perceived as? Do they have no shame? Please. KingsIsle. Change your practice. Do the ethical thing and extend your protection not only to paying members, but to the entire game. Until you do, I cannot justify spending another penny in this game ever again, because this unremorseful, blatant lack of ethics is downright shameful, and something should be done about it.
