Is gamebanana.com Safe?

A video game website where users can upload custom-made mods. Unfortunately, site staff act in corrupt and depraved ways, including but not limited to removing comments that criticize them and even removing comments from the site that simply criticize their individual mods. "mimo4e/mecchi" is one of these individuals. Oddly enough, the same individuals that censor users on their site and remove critiquing comments on their mod pages then proceed to host Patreons, where they ask users for money in exchange for their mods and complain about not receiving enough money (see attached image, warning: inappropriate language). A highly corrupt website with arbitrary enforcement of rules. If you must access to do anything besides download a mod, ensure you are connected to a VPN and do not provide any personal details. 1/5.

Not a bad site. I use this site all the time and have an account on it. There are a ton of mods available and a lot of guides and documentation on how to make your own mods. The servers do go down a quarter of the time, but not all the time. The site can also be a bit slow at times, but that's not such a big deal. Overall a pretty decent website.

This website is made for modifications of various games including aesthetic weapon skins, animations, models, sound, maps, textures, and in-game Sprays for Source games belonging to Valve Software which run under the Steam Client. There are sections of the site for different games. For example, The Team Fortress 2 gamebanana section is "tf2.gamebanana.com". It is slightly questionable on the safeness for children, although it's very minimum as the content posted is not allowed to be too explicit.

GameBanana/FPSBanana is an awesome site, don't get me wrong. But you need to be aware of the semi-adult content. Since it's a community-submission site, you get some of the bad with the good. I love going here for TF2 skins and such, but be aware that you might stumble across some non-kid-friendly images in the sprays.
