Is gumroad.com Safe?

Well perhaps you should always check the refund policy. Gumroad have done a lot of progress regarding fighting frauds (I own a website about fraud prevention btw). My review is: There is on this platform, honnest sellers with good intentions who simply want a secure platform to sell there services or product as we do, but there is also door open for scammers if they don't have a refund policy. Perhaps as a seller I know that Gumroad freeze the funds for a period of times for the sole purpose of refunding the person in case of scams. They have updated there platform multiple times and I can tell that they are working hard on that and that they respect people's. Trust is hard to earn online, especially when it comes to new product but it is a great platform, you can check my other reviews and you will see that I am not nice with fraudulent website. I have been victim of frauds myself (Not on Gumroad) and I am like super cautious when trying a new website. But I have personally offer cybersecurity services for linux server and my few clients where all happy of my professional and confidential service. I cannot say that all sellers are legit, it is not even true outside of internet (especially when you travel in different country) but I can tell you that there are some genuine sellers on this platform. Always be cautious! The most important part is the refund policy and the relation that you have with the person. Lastly, if you put yourself in the skin of a new developer who can build a website by itself but dosen't want to have to continuously upgrade the security to be Credit Card (HIPPA complient and all secure) like big company that generate millions per years and can have multiple developers and expert in cybersecurity, well Gumroad is an excellent alternative as they collect a fee's. Other then that there's Shopify that has a great reputation but is costly especially if you don't plan on running ads or are on a low budget. So my final score is 4/5 stars. it's not perfect, but it does the job :)

In September 2015, blocked me from their Facebook after I asked them if an illegal download site was violating their terms of service. Appears to proxy finantial data through Cloudflare, whose claims of PCI-DSS compliance I do not believe due to their infrastructure or lack thereof.
