Is jobhat.com Safe?

I was contacted by a very pushy Jobhat representative by phone and he stated it was on a recorded line asking about my education. I was in the middle of dropping my two children off at school and stated I did not have the time at the moment to go over my educational background with him. He stated that this was important and pressed on without a hesitation. I stated again what I was doing and he paused for a couple of seconds and sarcastically said, “good luck finding a job (my name)”. What a great start to the morning that was. Information mining at best. Be careful.

This site claims to find you job listings. I honestly couldn't tell you the "job listings" are even real. Any one you click on will take you to something completely different. You won't get to fill out any kind of application. They WILL send your info out like Halloween candy and Schools are the trick or treaters. I have been getting calls and texts all day from schools that I never signed up for and specifically hit no and did not give consent too.

I was redirected to this site from a job I was looking into. Thinking I was giving my information to the company I was applying for. I was then instructed to call a number to finish registration. I was rather surprised to hear them rattle off "Jobhat" as their company name in their script, but thought maybe this was part of the process. After answering a series of questions including my home address and phone number, they told me they would email me an application for the job I was looking for and other jobs I might be interested in. I specified I was only interested in the exact job I was looking into and didn't want other job offers. They assured me they would "put that in [my] file". After hanging up, I had a thought, and phoned back to include that I forbade them any rights to use my information beyond what I had specifically asked them to do with it. They said they'd include it in their file and assured me that my information was classified. I have since received a multitude of emails from several non-affiliated domains with job offers I never solicited. Do not share information with this site or any site affiliated with this company. They will disregard your confidentiality and spam your email account. There are also multitudes of complaints with the BBB against them with a common theme of unsolicited phone calls, poor customer service (even laughing at people when asked to remove them from their contact list), and third party information sharing.

Do not believe this site does anything useful but harvest. I am certainly not going to give them my street address and phone number, which they demand before they do anything, just to find out. Guessing that they demand it due to the check box for the Educational call you WILL GET and who knows how many other calls they or others will then be calling you about.
