Watch out: The Sumo Update Checker installs not only the SUMO software, but also loads of Malware on your computer, without even asking for permission.

Vipre Antivirus detects the following: rkverify.exe toolbar rkinstaller.exe toolbar Stay away from this company and its software. The fact that it's installing a toolbar without your consent should be enough of a warning.

First I would like to say that, as a utility, I LOVE sumo and think it's superior to filehippo's update checker and Secunia PSI in terms of being thorough. I recently upgraded to the latest version (3.3.1.163) and after a reboot my Video Card drivers crashed unexpectedly. I keep my system in tip-top shape (hence having Sumo, etc on my computer) so this was a BIG red flag. Next thing I notice, there's a new icon in my system tray called "Relevant Knowledge". Right-clicking it does nothing and clicking it opens up their website (which I closed before it loaded on screen). Doing some research, "Relevant Knowledge" is about as big of a breach in privacy one can put on their computer and is a significant malware threat. I'm not sure if the folks at KC Software are hard up for revenue or what the case may be, but packaging such malware is a great way to quickly lose customer loyalty. DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THE PEOPLE THAT INSTALL YOUR PROGRAM ARE POWER USERS THAT CAN IDENTIFY THESE THINGS???? The installer is so obfuscated in the installation for SUMO that it really seems like you clicking the usual, Agree/Disagree statement in most program installations. Just look at all these comments, KC Software should immediately remove the malware packages, issue a statement here and on their website, and focus on a different avenue of marketing and revenue. This ain't it. KC Soft, underneath all the MALWARE you truly have the best updating system and, with some refinements to installing each individual program update, could eventually be a mainstay on everyone's computers. Try to get on ***** -- Have lifehacker write an article about you. ANYTHING! But trying to cheat your users into installing unethical software is DEATH SENTENCE. Clean it up KC.

Always use Sumo for updating all my programs. Best program I found that does that. Now my avg is saying that it's a password stealer. What?! yea I don't think so this is a good program and got a know to download the right thing. SUMO"S is the best!

Not just one adware but often multiple adware. It can be unticked on installation, but it dosn't promote trust in this developer.

Stay away, don't download SUMo Update, contains viri.

When I downloaded Videoinspector it included numerous spyware. When I chose not to install them it installed them anyhow. Disabled Firefox, broke html file registration so I got the "Locate link browser" message when clicking link in Outlook. Had to uninstall the software and reset the default program for html.
