OpenCodez LLC has done business with them for over a decade and then when I tried to setup a business account, so I don't have to pay full price. They denied us, even after referring thousand of people to their website.
I like this site and they have great product. I agree with everyone their email offers can feel a bit spammy however remember you can actually select your options of how often you want offers/newsletter in your account settings.
Site is child friendly in terms there is no malicious content.
Going through the same issue three years later, somethings never change. I had a Square Trade warranty on my wife's laptop purchased through TigerDirect and they were excellent. TigerDirect does not offer Square Trade anymore, but Square Trade allows direct warranty purchases within 30 days of any electronics purchase. Here is a review I posted on several review site and Neweggs Facebook page (which I am sure will be blocked quickly:Newegg is a market place, not a vendor. It appears you are purchasing products and warranties from Newegg, but when the products are misrepresented (IE getting a Home version of Windows VS WINDOws Pro on your Laptop), they claim they did not sell it, and go as far as blocking your review calling out false advertising. When you purchase a extended warranty. It is a replacement warranty good for one replacement credit for the purchse price of your misrepresented junk. It refunds the list price of the junk when purchased, not shipping, handling or the price of the plan, which expires once you use it. Again this is through a third party. And Newegg gives you no indication of who warrantied the product or where to file a claim unless you call and ask for it. Expect the same nasty "not our problem attitude" when you call to get this information. Once you do file a claim expect to spend several weeks of being promised a credit in 2-3 day, another 5-7 days, another 8-10 days. The time gets longer every time they miss a deadline. I am currently in the 8-10 day cycle, I am confident on day 11 I will be told another 10 to 15 days. The warranty company (AIG) blames Newegg, Newegg blames AIG, If you put both companies on a conference call they blame the company who sold the computer. Don't bother asking for a manger, they will just put you on hold for 10 minutes and come back with the same answer.
Tip for consumers: Buy from TigerDirect. Shipping costs are highter, but a least they take ownership when there is a problem with quick management response
Once upon a time NewEgg had a focus on computer parts. The website has "expanded" over the years and lost its focus trying to expand into electronics and allowing other merchants to list products. Once upon a time this use to be the go-to site for computer upgrades and replacement parts but now is a mere shadow of its former glory. It is still a trustworthy resource and I still do make purchases here but it is no longer as good as it was and prices have increased as well as shipping cost (ironically it now has a membership plan to save on shipping, go figure).

Newegg is a great site! I have bought computer components and accessories from them and have not had too much of an issue with them. However, when I was returning a monitor I did not like (the screen was acting a bit odd), I accidentally ripped the UPC code. I asked their customer service representative if they would still accept it, since I was already at UPS to ship it, they tried to expedite the process of getting someone at their RMA department to see if they would accept it. I believe it still took a bit, though. Wish the process could have been a bit shorter. Regardless, I would still buy from them again.
Newegg is an online electronics retailer. In general, their returns policy is solid, and they do not scam their customers. This is based off of my experienced making purchases in the US. I've purchased two laptops as well as a couple thousand dollars in desktop components from newegg over the course of the last 5 years.
It gets a very mixed rating because they do many things well and have good prices. One advantage they have is lots of customer reviews that tend to be excellent. However, the site is MESSED UP!!! If you load it on a browser other than stinky Internet Explorer and you have any trace of privacy/security expect things so fundamental as logins to fail. In 2014 I found some security holes and when I contacted them the walls went up. They didn't want to hear a word of it.Even if you don't experience problems with the site expect a flood of marketing mails- a problem that you will encounter with many similar sites. Put it all together and I would advise caution and thinking things through with these guys.
NewEgg used to be a great company. Gone downhill in recent time. Now offering products from Asia without their (used to be) great return policy. Recently ordered a product, not realizing it was from Singipor. Product does not show up, NewEgg does not back the sale.
Done with NewEgg.
EDIT 17 April 2015:
It took some doing but after a few weeks of back and forth NewEgg made the situation right. Finally got the product after a number of weeks. I may still be a NewEgg customer, even if I have to be a very cautious customer.
Newegg, besides having great customer service, fights patent trolls for the good of everyone, even their competition.
