Edge of Darkness is a roleplaying site dedicated to the New World of Darkness. At the time of this writing, it uses the First Edition rules for the New World of Darkness. From a technical perspective, there is nothing wrong with the site. I found it very intuitive and convenient to use. I especially liked the integration with New World of Darkness roleplaying systems. The site is beautiful but does not sacrifice functionality to achieve this. It is a good blend of function and form. However, the site's users, especially its staff, are extremely hostile towards new players, especially those whose opinions do not match theirs. Older members get preferential treatment over newer members. The site's progression system greatly rewards players who joined early and prevents newer players from ever catching up. The site's newbie-unfriendly nature greatly limits its growth. Expect to jump through hoops until you are accepted by the in-group, for a paltry reward in a sparsely-populated virtual world. If you'd rather not be able to play than stay in a bad game, then avoid this site.
