Is resumegenius.com Safe?

Absolute scam. They pretend that it’s free and you spend an hour building your resume only to discover that it is not free. To download your work you need to pay almost 3$. You’d think it stops here, but in small prints you’re actually entering a 23$ monthly subscription. While you get a receipt for the initial 3$, they don’t send receipts for the ongoing 23$ and if you don’t take a close look to your charges you won’t notice before a while. Well done scam.

Be careful to close your account as soon as possible. I was paying $23.95 a month. When I requested to close my account they offered me an $11 refund and then said I could have the premium access for $12. When I refused, they said how about for $4.95. If you get it, try and cancel and get them down to $4.95 if you want the service for a long time.

While resume genius really is a great service with a lot of tools, I feel as though they have built a system that is deceptive. Created a resume, and it's great--solid content, great aesthetic. The problem is if you ever need to make a change to your resume, you must pay $25--if you get a new job, want to list a new skill, any minute detail is $25. Also, it's a hassle to cancel. I have made more than one $75 error because I did not enter through the multiple prompts--like 3 or 4 prompts--to cancel. If any any point, you do not click all the way through, the service is not cancelled. I acknowledge that this is partly on me; however, it is deceptive and a bit of a pain to actually successfully cancel.

This is the shadiest company I've ever dealt with. They will ad a hidden sub fee and then charge you if you don't unsub. Problem is they have an intentionally broken Cancel Account button so that you can't do this. Absolute liars with despicable business practices.

The site claims to offer a free resume service with download to MS Word, etc. It never mentions a price....UNTIL I was finished building the resume, then it requested $4.95 to download and noted that it renews automatically in 14 days for 34$. This was misleading, beware!
