Is tynt.com Safe?

21Aug2012 What happened when Google visited this site? Of the 3 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 0 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2012-06-30, and suspicious content was never found on this site within the past 90 days.

This site secretly incorporates a virtual trail of 'bread crumbs' using the content users save to their own computer. This isn't something you just purge by deleting cookies and such, it stays with the content indefinitely! Completely unacceptable. We can't have everything user's do tracked/recorded for the purpose of preventing users from using content without proper permission.

I find this site unethical and exploiting. Tracks and Logs your clipboard data, not cool. Best thing to do is to add this line into your hosts file: ***** tcr.tynt.com Source: *****

This site provides a useful service that helps to keep the internet a free and useful resource for us all. Don't get paranoid regarding tracking and targeted advertisements. without them, many web service providers would be forced to charge a hefty premium. is that what you would really prefer?

It says so in they're page. When you copy text from a website, it is send to them, and the text is replaced with an url back to the website you've copied from, in order to increase its visits. This is illegal.
